A couple months ago we had an adorable new family move in down the street. To welcome them to our AMAZING neighborhood I headed to my go-to gift basket spot…World Market. And I say ‘basket’ loosely, there are so many containers to corral goodies! I like to pick a general theme and for this one I went with an easy pasta night. I found a great wire handled basket and added bucatini pasta, fresh sauce, an olive oil dipping sauce, wooden spoons and dish towels. I also always like to add something fresh…flowers, a small plant, and this time a big ol’ bunch of basil straight from our garden.
And of course I’d never forget a simple handwritten note! I keep a variety of family stationery on hand for thank you’s, hellos and welcomes. I chose to use this stationery, I especially like it because it includes all of our names. As a newbie to the neighborhood myself I know how hard it can be to remember everyone’s name in the first few weeks! This notecard is not only stylish but can be used as a handy reference for the new family later.
I love the pasta theme…but there are a lot of other goodies at World Market that can be put together for a fun gift basket too. Scone mix, jam, a fun spatula, wooden spoons, dishtowels and some fresh flowers would be an awesome breakfast basket. Or I also love the housekeeping theme….Mrs. Meyers cleaning sprays, a wooden handle scrub brush, all natural sponges, dishtowels and a small plant put together in a big glass jar. The best part is shopping around and putting it all together!
