Now that the holidays are over I’m in full on “get ready for baby” mode. Our youngest is now four, so we basically need everything new. Which is totally fun! And expensive, eek! And a little daunting! Because wow, things sure do change in just 4 years. But I’ve started doing my research and I’ve found a few things I’m pretty sure are must-haves…
ONE: Ollie swaddles – I’m a big fan of swaddling and all three of my kiddos were swaddled. I think it really does help them sleep better and longer. I’ve heard such awesome things about these Ollie swaddles, plus the neutral pale colors are right up my alley!
TWO: Wipe warmer – At first this seems like one of those unnecessary baby items, but honestly I found our wipe warmer so helpful for middle of the night diaper changes. I’ve always tried to keep night feedings as quiet and soothing as possible. Basically quick diaper change, feed and right back to bed. It’s not party time, right? So a warm wipe on the tush instead of a cold one helps to keep baby as sleepy as possible!
THREE: Fisher Price Rock and Play – I had swings with my other three, but I think I’ll be trying the rock n’ play this time instead! It has an auto-rock feature similar to the swing, but I love the smaller footprint it takes up and its ability to fold so easily.
FOUR: DockATot – I think it’s possible that anyone who is expecting or has a newborn has heard of the DockATot. A comfy and cozy sleep spot for your little one, but with 100% breathable material for baby’s safety. Plus it’s portable. I love the idea that I can easily move it around the house and she’ll feel safe and snug in her familiar environment.
FIVE: Nuna MIXX Stroller – Ahhh, the stroller…the biggest baby gear decision! I tested the Nuna MIXX out at Nordstrom the other day and so far it’s the front runner. Key features – can snap on the Pipa carseat, has the ability to be forward or rear facing, has all terrain wheels so I can push it over grass if needed, it lays completely flat, it’s lightweight, oh and it looks great too!! My other front runner is the Bob jogger, which I know I’d love for the trails…BUT I don’t love the carseat options or the weight of it. I may just get the Bob when she’s a little older and use it specifically for trail walks. Anyone have either? Thoughts?
SIX: Nuna Pipa Carseat – This carseat gets amazing reviews…not only online, but my neighbor just got one for her newborn and is loving it’s features. Love that it’s lightweight, has the extended canopy and is pretty sleek looking.
SEVEN: Beautycounter baby line – all of the essentials without any of the yucky chemicals. I’ve been slowly trying out more and more of Beautycounter’s products and I’m continually impressed. Their Never List says it all.
EIGHT: LectroFan sound machine – more baby gear that revolves around getting them to sleep! Ha! I’ve always used sound machines during the night and naps and this one is my top pick this time around.
So what do you think? I’d love to hear from you other mama’s out there!! Do you have any of these products? Love them, hate them? Anything I’m missing? I’ve been out of the baby world for a few years and could use the advice! 🙂
