Next in my series of baby gear reviews is the Solly Baby Wrap! With my first three babies I used mainly the Baby Bjorn, but for Emmy I really wanted to try and master the wrap. Honestly I’ve always been a bit intimidated by them! So much fabric….so many twist and turns….and no actual buckles! But this time when I received the Solly as a gift, I dived right in and gave it a shot. Below is my review…
First piece of advice….watch the video. And really look at the included instructions. Trust me, you need them the first couple of times! When I received my Solly I watched the video first, and then I put it on following the printed instructions. And you know what? I got it. The first time. Baby Emmy was safe and snug and I felt like I just accomplished a major task. Fast forward to the next morning….I put it on all by myself, no instructions….and I got it all tangled!! Ha! I got a little too confident I guess, lol. But back to the printed directions I went, and in no time I had her securely in the Solly wrap again.
It does take a bit of getting used to, but once you’ve got it down, then it’s really quite easy! I love the lightweight material of the Solly. It doesn’t feel bulky or hot. And Emery loves it! I love that my hands are free, but that she still gets to be all snuggled up next to me. I’ve used it on family outings and walks. And I’ve used it a ton at meal time, especially at restaurants! This was one place that I didn’t anticipate using it actually….because it’s just as easy to leave her in her rock n’ play or infant carseat while we eat. But I love to have her next to me and not strapped into a seat, it’s just so much more cozy and she’s included in our family meals!
The Solly comes in a lot of cute patterns….and they recently announced a collaboration with Caitlin Wilson textiles. So so pretty!! Mine though is this awesome neutral which I also love. It goes with everything and compliments easy summer outfits.
I think my favorite part is those sweet little feet dangling. You can also tuck their legs up into the fabric, but once Emery reached a few weeks old she seemed to prefer having them out. And who can resist those toes??
I hope this review helps anybody out there considering a Solly Baby Wrap! Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
