Over the past few weeks I’ve given reviews for the baby gear I’ve found useful in the first few months of Emery’s life….the Dockatot, Ollie Swaddle and Solly Baby Wrap. Now I’m on to the main event, the stroller! I think picking out a stroller is one of the biggest baby gear decisions to make. I ended up getting the Mutsy Evo Stroller and after using it a few months I’d love to give my honest review!
Well first off I just love how this stroller looks! I love the grey and black fabric and the leather handle. I think it looks a lot like some much more expensive options out there. The look and price ($449) are what initial drew me to the stroller. But then I looked more into the details and liked what I saw there too.
A lot of luxury strollers come with a bassinet. While you can purchase the bassinet for the Mutsy Evo, by my fourth baby I realized we didn’t necessarily need that option. I think the bassinets are sweet, but honestly they aren’t used for that long of a time. So instead I love that this stroller lies almost completely flat, so it can be used from birth almost as a bassinet without an extra piece of equipment. As you can see in the photos I just lay a comfy blanket down and lay her right on top. If we’re out and about and I want her to take a good nap I can still swaddle her up.
The stroller is very smooth ride and can be pushed with one hand easily. It also turns very well. This was something I absolutely knew I needed in a stroller. With 4 kiddos I’m often holding someone else’s hand while we navigate our way around! And turning well is so important in more crowded areas. If you saw my initial baby gear post of the items I thought I would get, I had originally thought I would get the Nuna stroller. But honestly I tried it out at Nordstrom and it just seemed a little clunky to me and heavier and harder to push and turn.
Another thing I really love about this stroller (and is also key in a good stroller!!) is the large basket. It’s easily accessible and can hold a lot of stuff!
Okay now for the things I’ve found that I don’t love about this stroller. First off, I use the Maxi Cosi infant carseat with it. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of that attached, but my main complaint is that it can be tough to get it positioned correctly when putting it on the stroller. I use these carseat attachments. And I find the buttons to take it off are in an awkward location. Once it’s on it is great though, and I do love that carseat as well.
The carseat attachment is definitely my biggest complaint, and the other issues are pretty minor. It doesn’t come with a cup holder or have a specific Mutsy cup holder attachment, but I bought this parent console and it’s work just fine. The handlebar can also be a little low….it’s not an issue for me but my husband would like it to go higher. When you extend the handlebar straight it’s higher, but then you can’t use the parent console.
Overall we are really loving the Mutsy Evo stroller! I get a ton of compliments on it, and again I think it really compares well to it’s higher priced counterparts. I’m happy we didn’t spend $1000 on a stroller, especially since this is our last baby! So far we’ve only used it with our Maxi Cosi carseat and when it’s down flat like a bassinet. I’ll keep you posted on how we like it once she starts to sit up more in the stroller! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions!
