I have a base of makeup products that I like to use everyday, but it’s always fun to try out a few brands and colors. So when Emily from Designed Elegance and I decided to collaborate, I knew it would be a great opportunity to test out some new things, and learn a few tips and tricks of the trade! Plus who doesn’t love to play with makeup, I mean how fun does this spread look?
We started with a clean fresh face and then my go-to basics. Every since I was introduced to Beautycounter I’ve been loving this concealer. I apply that first under my eyes, and a few swipes to my forehead, chin and any other areas that might need a little extra coverage. I’ve been using Bobbi Brown’s foundation stick for nearly forever and that goes on next. I add a few swipes to my cheeks, forehead and chin. Then it’s like connect the dots and blend blend blend with this makeup brush. Set with Laura Mercier’s loose powder.
Most often I stick with liner and mascara for my everyday, but I was super excited to play with some eyeshadows that Emily brought over! First off she introduced me to this eye primer from Tarte and it’s definitely become a new favorite. It really helps to keep eyeshadow in place and to not crease. Then we used Beautycounter shadows in Fawn, Bronze and Pearl. Fawn was placed on the outer corners, Bronze in the crease, and Pearl as a highlighter below the brow. Finished off with eyeliner and mascara. My eyes really popped!
