Oh Miss Emmy, I just can’t resist your sweet face! We were playing in her nursery the other day and I just had to snap these pictures. This little lady is growing so so fast and I’m truly trying to savor every minute. In that spirit, one thing I really want to focus on in 2018 is slowing down and simplifying.
In my last post I mentioned how I love a calm and clean house. It might sound silly, and maybe it shouldn’t really matter…but having spent that time decluttering and organizing our home has let my mind settle and calm down as well. I think, like a lot of us, I always have these lists running through my head. Run this errand, pick up that clutter, cook this dish, fold that laundry….right??! It never ends, ha! But all of those tasks are easier to complete if that baseline of your home is calm. It simplifies things, don’t you think?
I’m going to do my best to keep my home at that baseline….it’s not perfect now and it never will be…we have about a million projects I want to complete. But for now I’m happy with where it’s at and hopefully I can continue to keep it here without feeling overwhelmed. So 2018, I may not have a list of specific resolutions for you…but somehow I think this is better.
Because what really matters to me are moments like this one. She’s learning to crawl and pull herself up on things. She has her two front teeth and sticks her tongue out, exploring their new feel. She gives me kisses when I say “mama kiss” and she literally squeals with delight when her brother and sisters come in the room. And I’m going to do my very best to slow down and enjoy every single second!
As always, thank you for reading!
