This is it…the holy grail of face serums. Seriously. I’ve been using it solidly for about 2 months and I’m 1000% addicted. I can tell a significant difference in my skin’s moisture and brightness and really does give me the ‘glow’ the name implies. So let me give you the scoop on this DIY serum that is simply made with 3 pure essential oils and jojoba oil.
This DIY essential oil glow serum contains 3 essential oils – Copaiba, Frankincense and Lavender with Jojoba oil acting as the base. The three oils combined help moisturize your skin, minimize pores, reduce inflammation and promote circulation. And they do it completely naturally with absolutely none of the toxic chemicals unfortunately used in so many of the mainstream skincare products.
And honestly one of my favorite parts??? It’s so INEXPENSIVE!! Oh my gosh I seriously wish I had tried this earlier. I’ve purchased countless serums at Sephora, and don’t get me wrong they’ve been great, but at upwards of $100 each they’re not so easy on the budget. Plus I think the ‘all natural’ product world can be a little hard to navigate. It’s so hard to tell which are actually as non-toxic as they claim. With this DIY serum I know exactly what is going into it, and I know these ingredients are 100% pure and natural.
In a 1 ounce amber glass dropper bottle add the essential oils. Fill the rest with jojoba oil. That’s it!! So easy, right?
You can also double the recipe and put it in a 2 ounce bottle!
To apply the glow serum add 4-5 drops in the palm of your hand, apply to your face and rub in completely.
I use the glow serum both morning and night! In the morning I wash my face with water only. I then apply my glow serum and follow with a SPF moisturizer. In the evening I was my face with cleanser, follow with the glow serum, and then moisturizer. I also apply Frankincense directly to my skin just before bed. This routine works WONDERS!!!
Each of the essential oils used in the glow serum are included in the Young Living starter pack. You can purchase that here. You can also purchase the oils individually, but honestly the starter pack is a better value, especially if you’re interested in trying out oils in other areas of your life! I started using essential oils last Fall and they have been such an awesome addition to our household. I’m slowly switching out products, and have started using YL detergent, cleaners, kids soaps and lotions. I feel SO GOOD knowing they are completely clean and my kiddos aren’t breathing in or putting any toxic chemicals on their bodies. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to chat about them more! I’m not an expert but I love the community I’ve join, and love learning about it together!
