One Bowl Banana Bread

This one is on repeat at our house – the best ever banana bread! Mostly made with one bowl. I make this quite often for after school snack. My kiddos love the chocolate chips but you can use walnuts too – or both! I often double the recipe to make two loaves. They freeze wonderfully when wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.

One Bowl Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a bread loaf pan.

In a large bowl mash the bananas and then stir in the melted butter. Add sugar, egg and vanilla and stir to combine using a wooden spoon. Sprinkle the baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and salt on top of the banana mixture. Stir. Add flour and chocolate chips and stir just until no streaks of flour remain. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes.

Let banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing. The slice and enjoy, or let cool completely and wrap in plastic wrap to store in freezer!

Enjoy!!!
