February 9, 2020

February has me leaning in to a slower pace of life. I’ve been doing a lot of cooking and have delved into the world of homemade bread. It’s so much fun and my kids are loving my test loafs! Luckily they seem to like it all. We’re also making plans for our yard, and I’m […]

February Mood ’20

life + style  in southern california

capturing everyday beauty

Pretty Smitten began as a creative outlet after the birth of my first child in 2008. What started as a sweet little Etsy shop has now grown into a full Southern California Life + Style site featuring home decor, food, entertaining and wellness content. I believe there is beauty in the simplified, and I strive to create a beautiful happy home where we can stop to enjoy the little things. I hope within this blog you'll find a little inspiration for your own home life as well.

I'm also now thrilled to be offering fine art lifestyle photography. Documenting love in all forms is truly a gift...sweet little newborns, expecting mamas, families and couples...photos are our only "pause button."  Learn more about Elizabeth Johnson Photography by clicking below!

I’m sure there will be last minute trips […]

Tis’ the season for gift wrapping!! Have you finished yours yet? Started it? Somewhere in the middle? Every year I say I’m going to get all of my gifts wrapped early. Some years that actually happens and some years I’m frantically wrapping on Christmas Eve. This year thankfully I seem to be ahead of the […]

Recipes on my list to make this season

A few days ago I had the opportunity to attend a cooking class at the most darling local cooking school, Teaspoons. Spending the evening sauteeing, braising, and learning some fun new techniques has really inspired me this season! Because even though I love to spend time in the kitchen anytime in during the year, doesn’t […]
