I’m so ready to bring on summer and allll the outdoor activities. Unfortunately our SoCal weather doesn’t seem to be cooperating!! Our “June gloom” seems to have crept it’s way into May too and I’m so ready to see some sun!! We’re not letting it stop us from warmer weather activities though! When we were recently blessed with a sunny day we headed out for some strawberry picking with friends at a local farm in San Juan Capistrano.
These two little cuties had the best time filling their boxes with the most beautiful strawberries I’ve ever seen! Big, beautiful, deep red strawberries filled rows upon rows, all available for the picking! There may have been a bit of sampling happening too.
The farm is part of The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano. This is such a magical little place! Not only do they offer seasonal strawberry picking, but the entire center is focused around showcasing ecological creative solutions for thriving on planet Earth. They offer guided tours, children’s activities, farm dinners and more. Plus they have a darling little farm stand open everyday! Honestly it’s the sweetest place and a must visit if you are local to Orange County.
We focused on the strawberry picking this time, but I’ve begun visiting the farm stand more often and I’ll have to share photos of that with you soon! Growing, harvesting and eating locally is such an important part in keeping our beloved Earth thriving, and I love how this local spot is more than doing their part.
