While the house project list is still long, the beginning of 2024 did bring some progress in our bunk room! This room is located in our basement and has no windows. Our first thought was to make it a theater room, but after living here a while it soon became apparent that a bunk room would be used way more often, and be way more fun! We have a large TV and comfy couch in another area of our basement so we just felt another place to watch movies wasn’t necessary. Our kids also love to have sleepovers and this space will sleep 6 people!

Our friends and neighbors own a woodworking company (Southern Accent Nashville) and after showing them inspiration pictures they were able to build these bunks for us! I’m so in love with how they are turning out. We decided to do the painting on our own and we chose the same color as all of the trim in our house, Benjamin Moore Simply White. Eventually I’d like to extend the vertical shiplap around the entire room (right now it’s just behind the bunks) and replace the carpet…but for now some fresh bedding and decor will have to do!
