Cozy at home

Well I guess we’re in this for the long haul! While ‘shelter in place’ didn’t technically start until this past Friday, our family has been staying home and keeping social distance now for 11 days. Except walks in the neighborhood and a few drives down to the beach, we’ve been at home! AND it’s been raining, a lot. Here are a few ways I that help make me and our home feel cozy during this strange time.

Candles – I almost always have a candle lit during the day. I love fresh scents and this Tuileries candle has become one of my favorites. I’ve linked it here directly to their website, but they are often available on Amazon as well. I’ve noticed they do sell out quickly on Amazon, but then will become available again relatively quickly. Just keep checking. I also love the Maui and Sunday Morning scents!

Cozy attire – During this crazy time it is way too easy to let the entire day pass without getting ready. I don’t want to be in pajamas all day, but if we’re only at I definitely plan on being cozy! Sets like this one and this one can let you do both. And these Jenni Kayne mules are high on my wish list.

Good sleep – I don’t know about you guys but my mind can start to race at night. While my husband hits the pillow and can be out in minutes, I start thinking about alllll the things. But good sleep is one of the key components to good health, so I’m doing my best to make my sleeping environment calm and peaceful. So much contributes to a good nights sleep, including scent. I love to diffuse lavender in the evenings and I’m excited to add this linen spray to my routine as well.

A good cup of coffee – Ahhh coffee, I’m enjoying my morning cup now more than ever. We splurged a couple years ago on a nice espresso machine and it was worth every penny. I add a little Just Date Syrup, steamed almond milk and a dash of cinnamon on top. These Anthropologie mugs bring a little sunshine and positivity just when we might need it most!

Good skincare – Shelter in place gives us the perfect opportunity to forgo makeup and let our skin breathe! During the day I love to use only a facial oil and some sunscreen. And at night there’s nothing better then a good exfoliator.

Now let’s all do our part and STAY HOME! There are many out there with positions that don’t allow for this (not only hospital workers but grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, and many many more)….so I’m taking it as a privilege and getting cozy for the long haul. Stay safe friends!
